We did Something Funny for Money!

What a great day! The focus of Red Nose Day this year was to Do Something Funny for Money. Our School Councillors decided that our focus would be on teenagers with mental health problems and Mrs Cook presented a series of Assemblies on this topic. Last time we supported this event in 2009, we raised in the region of £1180. A fantastic sum I am sure you will agree but one that we are hoping to beat this year - at the last count the total so far was £1488 - we hope to reach the £1500 target!
In order to achieve this target we organised a host of activities for pupils and staff including
Sale of approximately 250 Red Noses from the Main Reception and at Student Services in the lead up to Red Nose Day
We held a Guess the Baby competition - staff donated copies of their own baby photographs and a competition was held to see who could Guess the Baby.
On Friday 18th March students dressed in Civvies clothes and were encouraged to wear something red or funny - some wore pyjamas! Staff joined the fun by wearing fancy dress - mostly Superheros, or something red.
During Break time we held a Bake Sale with an array of red decorated cakes made by staff and students.
This was all topped off at Lunchtime with a fantastic Talent Show. Some great acts took part with a real mix of talents and in particular the humour, so apt on Comic Relief.
Thank you and well done to everyone who took part, helped in the organisation and who donated.
