WSC Hip Hop Team win 1st Place!
On Monday afternoon, Westbourne's Hip Hop Club competed at a Cheerleading & Hip Hop Showcase at Pipers Vale Gymnastics Academy. Over 300 pupils took part with Westbourne being the only school to enter a boys team. They won 1st place in the Hip Hop event with a marvellous 149 points out of 200 - some 20 points ahead of Orwell High School who came 2nd and Copleston who finished 3rd.
A panel of independent judges, with no school connections, judged each team's performance and awarded points for their choreography/creativity, difficulty of skills, execution of hip hop movement, hip hop specialities, performance and energy as well as transitions, formations and spacing.
Well done and congratulations to Dray Cann 7H, Roberto De Sousa 10H, Brandon Smith 10N, Reece Cattermole 9K, Marley Jarrett 7K and Che Burnett 10H. Thanks also to their fantastic Hip Hop Coach, Miss Lauren Clarke.
As winners, the boys were asked to come out and perform once more to close the show -to tremendous applause and appreciation from the 300 young ladies present!
