Successfull Year 10 Work Experience fortnight

It is with a great sense of pride that I am able to report what a huge success this year's, two weeks, Work Experience was for Year 10.

Caroline Handley, helped by Marie Smith worked extremely hard and must be included in the congratulatory message with regards to the overall organisation of the venture however, it has been the students themselves who have proved themselves to be young people with the maturity to conduct themselves in a professional manner and be fantastic ambassadors for Westbourne Sports College.

As a Head of Year, it is one of the most gratifying experiences to hear of the year group's success; with employers contacting me to congratulate me on having such polite, respectful, hardworking, young people in my year group.

More students than ever have been offered Saturday jobs and Apprenticeships. We have also had more employers requesting that they remain on the list for Work Experience for the next cohort, with a further request that we send them extra students to the number they catered for this year. The response we have had from employers and members of staff who went to visit them in their work placements is completely due to the way the year group have conducted themselves.

Year 10 should be proud; They have set a very high standard for following year groups to achieve.

Well done year 10!
Ms C Salter, Head of Year 10T
