Rewards & Awards

Students at Westbourne have been enjoying a Term of Awards & Rewards.

Awards Evening took place on Wednesday 30th June with over 220 students receiving recognition for their outstanding attainment and progress. The evening was a great success and included a wide variety of entertainment from students who take part in extra curricular groups : - the String Quartet, Sambaskool drummers, ShowNoLess MC Rappers and Hip Hop Dancers

We were delighted to receive over 350 entries of excellent work from our students for Shine Week (12th – 16th July) celebrating their success and sharing their good work; although the judging was difficult due to the high quality of the entries, the judges awarded certificates & rosettes to 10 finalists from Year 7 – 10 and 5 from Year 11.

On Monday 19th July 31 students who had achieved either 100% or 99.7% (just ½ day off) attendance joined their Heads of Year and Attendance staff to enjoy lunch and play ten pin bowling at Solar Bowl in Sproughton Road.

The term was rounded off in spectacular fashion with a fantastic invitation to students who have had an outstanding year at school to visit Thorpe Park. On Friday 23rd July, the first day of the summer holiday, 287 students along with 20 members of staff boarded 3 double deckers & 1  single-decker coach for an exciting day out.
