Year 8 boys athletics success

Year 8 Boys recently competed in the Suffolk Schools Athletics Championships. They finished 2nd in their pool, and qualified for the South Suffolk Final in the process, a feat that has only ever been achieved once before by Westbourne.

There were 1st place finishes for Luke Johnson in High Jump B, Tyler Knock in Discus A, Gavin Coyne in Shot B, Rhys Cattermole in Javelin A and Alex Meek in Javelin B. In addition to this the boys achieved 13 2nd place finishes in other
events on the night.

They now progress to the final to held at Northgate on Tuesday 22nd June.

• Andrew Davis - 2nd in Long Jump A
