GCSE Results 2011

Staff and students at Westbourne Sports College were celebrating their results this year which saw 41% of students achieving the 5 A*-C including English and Maths. Headteacher Chris Edwards said

“The students have worked very hard and should be very proud of their results. I am particularly pleased with the performance of our real high flyers. We have put a special focus this year on meeting the needs of the most able students and results have paid off.  Many of our students are now achieving top grades in 13 or more subjects, with one student achieving 15 GCSEs. The league table looks at the number of students achieving 5 or more A*-C passes including English and Maths; we now have over 30% of our students achieving 10 or more A*-C passes including English and Maths.”

Westbourne’s top performers were Elizabeth Thurlow and Soorya Sunil both of whom achieved 13 top grade GCSEs with 12 at A* and A, Elizabeth  achieving 7 A* passes. Other outstanding performers were Jackson Wingar, Marc Horrex and Daniel Stagg all of whom gained 10 A* and A grades.”
