Westbourne's Tidy Up Challenge

Some of the winning Year 7 studentsUPDATE:

The Tidy Up Challenge was a roaring success and was well supported by students and staff alike.

The Glorious Gold Trophy was won by Mr Dyer and his Year 7 team ... congratulations and well done!

We collected over 30 bags of litter (and a particularly lucky person even found a couple of coins!).

A big thank you to everyone who took part and supported this worthwhile event, and for helping to improve Westbourne's environment.

Students are invited to join us for 1-2 hours to help us make the college a much better and more environmentally friendly place to be.  We will be providing the equipment as well as refreshments for all who help out.

The Tidy Up Challenge and Trophy 2010The winning Year will be the one with the most volunteers that turn up to pick litter and they will receive the coveted glorious gold trophy.

We would like as many students as possible to take part - unfortunately we cannot accept help from younger brothers or sisters, or other non-students in this instance.

Students should bring suitable clothing for the weather conditions and the task (they will be able to change after school), and please bring a pair of gloves if you have them!

If you would like any further information, or would like to help out in any other way, please do not hesitate to contact us.

As part of the College’s aim to become more environmentally aware, Years 7, 8 and 9 are carrying out a “Westbourne Big Tidy Up” event in conjunction with Keep Britain Tidy’s “Big Tidy Up” campaign.  The event will take place on Monday 13th June, and students are invited to join together straight after school on this day, to help make a real difference to the school grounds and our local community by collecting discarded litter.
