Curriculum

Learning is at the heart of everything we do and the key to our success is quality lessons taught by quality teachers. The timetable of fifteen lessons each week is broken down into three one hundredd minute lessons per day.

The curriculum offered for Years 7 - 9 is designed to build upon the curriculum provided in the primary schools, to act as a foundation for future examination courses and careers. All students study Mathematics, English, Science, Modern Foreign Languages, Technology, Geography, History, RE, Music, Art, Drama, Design Technology, PE and ICT.

To broaden horizons and to develop students' wider skills we have a programme of personal and social education which includes focused days on key themes.

Throughout Years 9-11 all students study for a qualification at a level suitable to their ability in Physical Education.
In Years 10 and 11 students continue to follow a core curriculum with a focus on achieving essential qualifications in Maths, English, Science and ICT. Sport and social and careers development play an important part of life in Years 10 & 11, alongside option subjects chosen from a very large selection, including vocational courses delivered jointly with Suffolk One, Suffolk New College and Otley College.
