A Message from the Head

Welcome to Westbourne Sports College, a school that just keeps getting better!

I have been Headteacher here since 2000 and I have never been more excited by or more passionate about what we do here.  Westbourne is a school where:-
• achievement is celebrated;
• risk and innovation is nurtured and,
• there is a buzz of energy and excitement.

The Westbourne of today is a school where we pride ourselves in getting the best out of every one of our students.  Whether it is our most gifted and talented, who regularly go on to university, or the student who needs extra help with the basics, every student at Westbourne is valued as an individual in their own right.  Through the curriculum, extra curricular opportunities, the pastoral system and the healthy ethos of the school; we turn out mature and emotionally literate young adults equipped to face life's challenges.

I expect my staff to be passionate about what they do and to know that each and every one of them can make a difference.  I have built a motivated and dedicated team who go the extra mile to help students to succeed.  We are a school that listens to its students because together we learn to make a difference.  I want students to enjoy their school and be inspired to succeed.
